What will the new sync do?
Upgrading your Clik Jobs apps to the faster sync will allow the process of sending and downloading jobs sheets from Clik Service to take effect much quicker.
What preparation do I need to do before upgrading my sync?
1. Make sure you have the latest Clik Service update by going to Help > Check for Updates in the main desktop software. You can see all the latest Clik Service updates here.
2. Check all the engineers are on the latest version of Clik Jobs. Go to the Google Play (Android) or iTunes (Apple) stores and check there are no pending Clik Jobs updates to download. Have a look at all the Clik Jobs product updates for Android and iOS devices.
You can email our support team to send you a list of any engineers running an old version of the app.
3. Arrange a time for the sync upgrade to take place with our support team by calling us on 0117 902 2012.
What happens on the day the new sync is enabled?
The first Clik Service desktop sync will be a little longer than usual while everything updates in the background.
When the engineer checks for new jobs on Clik Jobs, they will be asked if they would like to switch over to the new sync.
At this stage, the engineer will be made aware they need to upload any outstanding information added to jobs before continuing.
The engineer must upload their work first because the database will be deleted and a new one will be downloaded after selecting ‘Continue’.
If they select ‘Cancel’, the engineer will have the chance to upload any jobs back to the office. They can start the sync upgrade once this is completed by checking for new jobs.
When the app asks if this is the primary device, select ‘Yes’. The only other time they might be asked if the device is their primary device is when they change their phone or tablet.
Clik Jobs will now download a new database, and the sync upgrade will be complete.
