The products module is a useful part of Clik Service that allows you to link with many of the core modules of the program. Products can be added to quotes, projects, sales, purchases and job sheets.
The system has the ability to manage stock items with batch and individual serial numbers, giving you full traceability throughout the system. It can also save you time when adding commonly used items to all parts of the program.
Here we'll have a quick look at some of the key features of the products module.
Product Types: There are three different types of product options available within Clik Service. Q product can be changed from one type to another at any time. When you change a product you may notice the number of tabs visible within the product item window change.
Stock
Setting a product to stock will allow the system to keep track of stock levels as you allocate items to jobs/invoices and book received goods in through goods inwards. You can keep full traceability down to batches and individual serial numbers.
The system will allow for multiple locations (like engineer van stock) and give you warnings when levels drop below a pre-defined total.
Non-Stock vs Service
Setting a product to non-stock or service, means the product will have no stock control features attributed to it. Non-stock/service items can be added to other areas of Clik Service, such as invoices or jobs.
Service items do not have a unit of sale, weight or manufacture reference fields – this is the only difference between non-stock and service items.
Product Locations
Before you can set up any stock items within the products database you must first set up your product locations.
To access the products location screen, click on 'Modules' at the top of the program and select 'Product locations' from the drop-down menu.
Product locations can be existing locations setup i.e. a customer's address, a new address or a vehicle. But if you want to add a location as a vehicle you must first set it up in the vehicles module of the program.
To set up a location address, click on 'New' and fill in the description and address as required.
The default stock location will be applied to all new stock product items created.
