With Clik Jobs you can track the location of your engineers and find the closest engineer to a jobs location.
This article will show you how to enable GPS in Clik Jobs and how to view the tracking in Clik Service.
For the GPS tracking to work the engineer will have to turn this option on and off from their device, then upload the GPS capture.
Setup GPS With An iOS Device
When you first run Clik Jobs on your iOS device you will be asked if you want to turn on GPS tracking. If you click Allow then no further configuration is required. If you click don’t allow or are unsure you can turn access on by going through settings > privacy > GPS locations > Clik Jobs and setting allow location access to always.
Setup GPS With An Android Device
When you first open the Clik Jobs app on an Android device, click on options > configuration within the app and make sure enable engineering GPS tracking is ticked.
Setup GPS Tracking In Clik Service
To be able to see the GPS tracking within Clik Service you will need to give each staff member the appropriate privileges by going to the Login/Privileges tab within the staff database and ticking can access GPS data.
In the general settings of Clik Service you can setup how often the refresh interval and maximum ping age is. A ping is each time the GPS signal is recieved from an engineer.
Turning GPS On/Off On Your Phone
When the engineer starts the day he can turn the GPS capture on by tapping start GPS tracking in the main menu in Clik Jobs. To stop the GPS you need to tap stop GPS tracking, funnily enough.
Uploading the GPS Tracking
Once the engineer has finished for the day he can upload the GPS tracks to Clik Service by going to view GPS captures. You can either hold down a selected capture and hit upload or upload all by tapping the upload button in the top right, which is highlighted below. This screen will give you details of how many GPS captures it’s taken and when it was last uploaded.
Using The GPS Tracker In Clik Service
To access the GPS tracking tool in Clik Service go to tools > GPS tracking > show locations.
From here you can see all the engineers with tracking on the map. On the right you can sort the list by departments and also ping time. You can then select the engineer you want to see and see their GPS points from a particular date range, like below.
The route tick box will show you the most logical route and distance from the engineers location to the company offices, like below.
You can also see the engineer’s location when assigning a job, from within the engineers schedule screen you by clicking on GPS locations.
This will show the locations of each engineer. You can double click on the engineers name on the right hand list to then select them for the job you are allocating.
